Vinyl Manufacturers – Bhamini Vinyls & Handicrafts Store

Every music lover knows that the purest form of music media is vinyl records. You might be surprised to know that, if well kept, the life of a vinyl record is over a 100 years. Even today, Gramophone vinyl records made in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, sound so good, as if they were made yesterday.

We had seen an excellent demand for vinyl records upto the 1970 -1975 era and until then all the music that was made was available in vinyl media format or records. In the 1980s, the culture of magnetic tapes or cassettes started which later, in 1990s, was followed by digital format of music i.e.  CDs and DVDs. This was a phase when vinyl records were not made because the demand had significantly reduced and people preferred the music cassettes or CDs and later DVDs. The situation for vinyl pressing plants or vinyl manufacturing became so grim that all vinyl pressing plants in India shut shop and sold their lands for redevelopment to the builder and developers for commercial gains. Although the situation today also is not very different and at the moment too, we do not have any Vinyl records pressing units in India. However, as there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, the sales of vinyl records in India has started increasing and the vinyl records culture is slowly making a comeback. Today many music lovers want their favourite music in the oldest and purest vinyl record format. In today’s time when streaming music and digital music is available at the click of a button, we have started seeing the change where demand for vinyl records has started. Experts are of the opinion that this is happening because streaming music or online music requires subscriptions, online data connectivity, or in case you download at times piracy issues etc. But when you have a vinyl record it gives one a satisfaction of owning the music and playing when desired and additionally the purest form of media.

Today most vinyl records are imported since they are pressed internationally and as a music lover I would love to see a vinyl pressing plant in India and Indian music vinyl records being made in India again.

At Bhamini , we have taken up an initiative to promote the Gramophone Vinyl Records culture back again. We are trying to promote vinyl records and satisfy the needs of all vinyl record lovers.
